Write an AI-use statement for a paper
Pick your venue and how you used AI. You get draft text based on our reading of the venue's published rules, with links to them. Check your venue's current rules before you submit.
Templates
Four starting points, one for each overall stance. Each one writes a CONTRIBUTING section, a pull request template and an AGENTS.md file with the default answers. Pick one, then fine-tune it in the builder.

What each tool does, where your answers are kept, and the keyboard shortcuts.
The four tools
- Policy builder
- Nine short steps. You get a CONTRIBUTING section, an AGENTS.md file, a pull request template and an issue template. Not sure where to start? Pick a template.
- Edit and export
- Change the wording like a document, see it the way GitHub shows it, then save it as Markdown, Word or PDF, or all files at once as a zip.
- Policy browser
- A short, hand-checked list of public policies. "Not stated" means the policy does not say; "None" means it says there is none.
- Paper statement
- Draft text for the AI-use statement that IEEE and ACM ask for, with links to their rules.
Your answers
Everything runs in your browser. Your answers and drafts are kept in this browser's local storage and are never uploaded. Clearing your site data removes them.

Command line
The CLI makes the same files from the answers JSON that the builder downloads. It is not published to npm, so run it from a clone of this repository: after npm ci and npm run build, run node apps/cli/dist/bin.js build --answers ai-policy.answers.json --out-dir . (see docs/cli.md).
